It is clear that gambling is not only based on mathematics. In many ways, the character and temperament of the player are the determining factors in the game. This is why the psychology of gambling receives a lot of attention in the professional sphere.
Depending on the style of play, players can be divided into two groups: those who base the game on knowledge of mathematics, and those who ignore it. The first group includes the mathematical player and the advanced player. Mathematicians build their game strategy based solely on numbers. They understand that playing at high stakes will not only not bring them profit, but will also significantly drain their wallet. A mathematician plays only according to a pre-thought-out plan and does not give free rein to his emotions, realizing that this will not lead to anything good. Such a player realizes that the casino advantage will not allow him to play for a long time and therefore knows exactly when he should stop in order to get a positive charge and profit.
Advance players are always represented in a minority. They understand various mathematical aspects, such as probability theory, winning percentage and many others, much better than mathematical players. They are always able to control their emotions and are not inclined to go on tilt. Therefore, it is not surprising that they always leave in the black. Possession of information about all the intricacies of the work and tricks of dealers, together with the goal of making money on the game, makes them not very welcome and even dangerous guests in all gaming establishments.
The second group is represented by an intuition player and an embittered regular. The intuition player believes only his feelings. The game for him is more than dry mathematical calculation. This is a kind of magic filled with inexplicable powers. He believes that any mathematics is powerless if luck does not smile on you. Such players believe in the ability to beat the casino through luck, and this belief often plays into their hands, as it gives them confidence and positive emotions.
The angry regular is a fairly experienced player. He understands that it is useless to fight the casino over a long distance, but, nevertheless, due to excitement and an overabundance of feelings, he does not know how to act in time, so he always loses. Such a player never considers himself wrong; it is easier for him to blame others for his failures.
These are the main types of casino players. But just as in everyday life a person combines several types of temperaments, in gambling he may exhibit characteristics of several types of players. It is impossible to clearly determine which type is better. And perhaps this is not the main thing. The main thing is to understand that this is just a game and enjoy it.
